Is TJ Maxx the holy land??

The featured image for this post is a variety of just some of the items that I’ve found at TJ Maxx over the last couple of months:

GlamGlow, Kat Von D, Urban Decay, Mac, and too much crap to fit in one picture.

I’ve been hyping up this the TJX Company (Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Homegoods) for a really long time. I’ve always loved it there. The kicker (for those that don’t have one of these near them or haven’t given it a chance) is that everything is discounted at up to 60% off what it would cost elsewhere. This isn’t due to damaged items or expired food items., like people may think. There’s a lot of reasons why this company can sell items so cheap. First of all, the company doesn’t advertise the brands that have in stores. It really is kinda like a thrift store ordeal where you won’t know until you get there what you may find. The products I find in my TJ Maxx will usually not be the same as the products you find at yours. There are other reasons too; related to contracts, liquidations, and designers whose department stores won’t take ALL of their products.

Anyway, this isn’t an Economics lesson. I wanna talk about how AMAZING the company has been lately.

It all started in October of last year. My mom and I were doing some browsing at our local TJ-Maxx. I remember seeing somewhere that someone found a high-end makeup product at their local store so I decided to take a glance, not really thinking much of it. This is where I found the Kat Von D Shade & Light; actually I found like six palettes and was really temped to stock up. I don’t need THAT many but also, I do. The retail price on this is $50 and I found it for somewhere between $25 and $32. HELLO???!? The rest of the makeup products were found on this same day all for at least 40% retail price. How could you not justify purchasing every single high-end products.

I’ve been going back to TJ Maxx and Marshalls to keep checking in for products and haven’t had any luck until last week when I found TWO Glam Glow products; a mud-like minty face cleanser; SuperCleanse daily clearing cleanser and the next day (yes, I went two days in a row) the Flushmud Brightening Face Mask. The cleanser was $19.99 – retail value $32 – ad the mask (1.7 OZ)  was $40 – retail value of $69.99.

The TJX company has ALWAYS been that store where I would occasionally find really special and unique items. However now, they are upping their game with these high end skin care and makeup products.

Don’t get me wrong, you won’t ALWAYS find the high-end products and when you do, sometimes the boxes are empty from thieves, (I think that TJX need to place some more attention on the Loss Prevention portion of their company but thats for another day) or the powdered products are absolutely wrecked, or you may not even find the right shade….but when you do find the right products…..

Comment below and share some rare and high-end products that you found at your local TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Homegoods!
