If you follow me on social media, you know that I am a HUGE fan of Julia Michaels. This incredible woman is a powerhouse. She’s a song-writer turned singer and she is absolutely killing the game.
Here’s what you might know by her:
She recently (okay, not recently. It was in the summer of 2017. JULIA WHERE IS THE ALBUM???!) released an mini-album titled ‘Nervous System’ that I absolutely adore and dub one of my favorite musical projects of 2017. It is very much early 2000’s pop-esque mixed in with elements that I don’t think have been done before. It’s sexy, it’s sweet, and Julia delivers some phenomenal vocals. I can say without a doubt that this type of pop is the type that I missed listening to.
My favorites off the mini-album are Pink and Make It Up To Me and that hasn’t changed since I first listened, which doesn’t usually happen.
For those who don’t know, Julia has been in the industry forever writing all these hits for huge artists – Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, and Linkin Park to name a few of the MANY. I have to say though, I am so glad she decided to step out from behind the scenes and become an artist who writes (with the help of some incredible cowriters) and performs her own songs.
With Julia joining Maroon 5 and Niall Horan on tour, there is no telling how far she will go once people start to discover her artistry.
I’ve been watching her career as an artist take off for so long and I am so excited to continue to watch her growth and success.
